That’s what I did this morning.
I haven’t been too active since I killed my foot back in September. To be fair, for a good portion of that time my foot hurt like eight bitches on a bitch boat — oh come on, it’s from ATHF bro! — and I had a giant boot on until the beginning of November. But here it is, the end of December and I’ve run about two times. Those run were done in the two days that we haven’t had snow on the ground. Yes, this winter is blessing us with snow at least once a week thus far.
But I digress. I’m out of shape is the point, people! So I bought a video game to combat the icky feelings that come along with not being active.
I joined the party indeed.
You “play” by following along with the dancing lady on the screen. She looks like this:
There are something like 30 different routines on this game — which is impressive considering my Turbo Jam videos only have 6 different routines total!
This is sexy dancing at it’s best. Also, I’m completely awesome at following along with the routines. As it turns out, I could be a back-up dancer in a Ricky Martin video.
After dancing like mad for an hour I had some breakfast. Bran flakes and coffee.
The breakfast of latin pop stars across the land.
I KNOW it’s not just me. They are ruining my life, one ball at a time.
I’ve been making oreo balls all day for some presents. Before I started to work on them here’s what I ate for lunch:
You guessed it — oreo balls! As I said before, they are ruining my life and for the majority of the day I felt like ass.
On the off chance that you too want to feel like ass (or want to give someone the gift of feeling like ass for the holidays) here’s how to make them.
Pulverize a box or oreos in the food processor then mix them with a thing of whipped cream cheese.
Roll them into balls and put them in the freezer to chill out.
Melt up some almond bark in the microwave to dip the balls in.
Then just let them harden up.
So that’s how to ruin your day with oreo balls.
Can you believe it?!?!?! I sure can’t.
Here are some things I’ve been thinking about today:
1. Watching soaps. I’ve watched The Young & The Restless for two days in a row now. I think I’ll spend the rest of the day watching other soaps. When I’m very well acquainted with the plot lines I’ll start calling them “my stories”.
2. I need to go out to buy more oreos and cream cheese to make oreo balls.
3. I had buckwheat pancakes, strawberries, honey and almond butter for breakfast. It was great.
4. I totally can’t wait until spring. I spent a portion of the morning reading through old blog posts — yes, I sometimes read my own blog, I’m not ashamed to say so because it’s pure literary brilliance — and my favorites were where the dinner photos were taken in natural light. How I long for late April!
I’m off to buy the fixin’s for oreo balls and to wrap presents.
Only MAYBE people…don’t get too excited. I’m going to try to blog regulary again…so here’s a recap of everything that has happened for the last 6 months — good god, it’s been that long.
Allison and Justin came to visit!
Kellen turned 27!
Phyn took a nap.
I discovered do-it-yourself yogurt places.
I unpacked my room.
Found a giant moth.
Finished unpacking my room.
Had a birthday.
Ripped up the ligaments in my foot training for the marathon.
Decorated for Christmas.
Put a Chicka Chicka tree on a cookie.
And Phyn took another nap.
I hope to regale you soon with some more goings-on but right now I need to go finish up some oreo balls for the holidays.
I’m glad to be back friends, I hope I’ll be back to blog tomorrow. I might even include some videos.
